What is S-AEIS?

The Supplementary Admissions Exercise for International Students (S-AEIS) is for international students seeking admission to Primary 2 to 4 and Secondary 1 to 2 within the same academic year. The exercise typically starts in January, with successful applicants beginning school in April or May. The process involves applying for the tests, taking the tests, and receiving the admissions outcome.

Key Dates and Process

Primary

1. From January 2024:

   Apply for and Take CEQ Test:

  • Primary school applicants must take the relevant Cambridge English Qualification (CEQ) test run by Cambridge Assessment English (CAE).

  • The CEQ test can be paper-based or computer-based and should be taken at a CAE-authorised exam centre in any country.

  • Ensure the test result will be released in time for the S-AEIS application.

 

2. By January 2025:

   Receive CEQ Test Result:

  • Your child must meet the required Cambridge English Scale (CES) score in their CEQ test before submitting an S-AEIS application.

  • The CEQ result must be uploaded during the S-AEIS application.

 

3. January 2025:

   Apply for S-AEIS Primary Mathematics Test:

  • If your child meets the minimum CES score, they can apply for the Mathematics test appropriate for their age.

  • Submit the application online via the Candidates Portal (CP).

  • Applications may close early if all test places are filled.

 

4. March 2025:

   Receive Entry Proof:

  • If the application is approved and payment is successful, you will receive an email to download your child’s entry proof from the CP.

   Take S-AEIS Primary Mathematics Test:

  • Your child will take the test in Singapore in March 2025.

 

5. April 2025:

   Release of Outcome:

  • Based on your child's performance, they may be offered a place in a school. Check the outcome online.

 

6. April to May 2025:

  Start School:

  • Successful applicants must report to the offered school within the reporting period to secure their place.

Secondary

  • Apply for S-AEIS Secondary Tests: Submit an online application in the Candidates Portal (CP) for your child to take the relevant English and Mathematics tests. Applications may close early if all places for the S-AEIS tests are filled.

   

2. March 2025:

  • Receive Entry Proof: If your application is approved and payment is successful, you will receive an email informing you to download your child’s entry proof from the CP.

  • Take S-AEIS Secondary Tests: Your child will take the English and Mathematics tests in Singapore.

 

3. April 2025:

  • Release of Outcome: Based on your child's performance in the tests, they may be offered a place in a school. Check the outcome online.

  • Report to School: Successful applicants must report to the offered school within the reporting period to secure their place. Failure to report may result in the place being offered to other applicants.

 

4. April to May 2025:

  • Start School: Successful applicants will start school in the new academic year.
